Description: The CO2 ocean-atmosphere flux is calculated by combining the available set of observations carried out at the Lampedusa Oceanographic Observatory and at the Lampedusa Atmospheric Observatory. Fluxes are in kg/m2/s. Positive flux values are for CO2 released from the ocean to the atmosphere.

Daily fluxes are calculated from 2-hour average measurements. Ocean pCO2 data measured 5 m below water (di Sarra et al., 2023a)
Atmospheric pCO2 obtained from ICOS atmospheric CO2 mixing ratio measurements carried out on the island available at https://www.icos-cp.eu.
The atmospheric CO2 partial pressure is obtained from the mixing ratio using the atmospheric pressure corrected using the water vapour partial pressure (estimated from sea surface temperature and salinity as described in Weiss and Price, 1980).
Sea temperature and salinity are measured 5 m below water (di Sarra et al., 2023b; di Sarra et al., 2023c)
CO2 solubility is estimated using Weiss (1974).
CO2 gas transfer velocity is computed using the Wanninkhof (2014) parameterization.
Wind speed is obtained from measurements carried out on the island (Sferlazzo et al., 2023).
As requested from the parameterization, averaged wind-speed over 15 m/s are discarded.
Uncertainty on the fluxes are computed using the linear approximation of the error propagation theory, using the python package "uncertainties" (Lebigot, 2023), starting from measurements accuracy and/or literature uncertanties on constants.
